I believe anyone can benefit from therapy. Your struggles are valid reasons to seek support. If you are feeling stuck and want the support of a skilled and compassionate professional, then therapy may be a good option for you. Therapy provides a space to gain new insights and learn new skills within the context of a trusting therapeutic relationship.
-
Please explore my web page. I also invite you to schedule a free consultation call with me. If you would like to move forward, we can schedule our first session(s). My goal is to be useful to you. Research shows that a strong therapeutic relationship is important for treatment to be optimally beneficial. You should feel good about the person you choose to work with. If I end up not being the right fit for you, I am very willing to help you find a provider who is more aligned with your vision for therapy.

Tele-health offers the convenient option of completing therapy from where you are most comfortable and in the comfort of your own home. Skipping a commute can mean more flexibility in scheduling and avoiding the dreaded waiting room. Most importantly, tele-health offers the option of keeping the same therapist, even if you need to re-locate to another state. Tele-health allows us to build a strong therapeutic alliance to which you can return as needed.
-
Yes. My private practice uses an encrypted and HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform to make sure every visit is secure and private.
-
Please treat your tele-health appointment the same way you would an in-person appointment (i.e., dress appropriately, focus on the appointment, etc.) In addition, please be in a safe and private place where you can be uninterrupted.

The American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is a professional organization whose mission is serve the public “by promoting the provision of quality psychological services through the examination and certification of professional psychologists engaged in specialty practice” (see the ABPP web page for additional information).
Board certification is not required for psychologists. It is an additional, voluntary process that psychologists complete to demonstrate advanced competency in a specialty area. Psychologists with the clinical psychology ABPP credential, like myself, have elected to undergo a review of their education, training, and professional experience as well as completed work samples and an oral examination before a panel of board-certified psychologists.
My board certification in clinical psychology demonstrates that I am member of a community of psychologists who are committed to the highest level of clinical competence. Board certification is the highest certification level for psychologists. For context, less than 5% of psychologists nationwide are board-certified.
Having board certification demonstrates that the psychologist has the education, training, professional experience, advanced competencies benchmarks, and ethical/legal foundations representing the psychology field’s highest professional standards.

Service members will likely need a referral from their on-post behavioral health clinic in order to have Tricare cover their off-post behavioral health care. Service members also have the option to pay for their care privately (i.e., directly); however, before doing this, I would encourage you to look into free services such as Military One Source or your Military Family Life Counselor.
-
Not yet. I am currently building and expanding my practice and I hope to be able to be an in-network provider for Tricare beneficiaries soon. Please stay tuned!
-
Maybe. I offer tele-psychology (online video) sessions that comply with the confidentiality laws of the United States. I am able to practice internationally in some countries, per international law. If you are living overseas and are interested in virtual psychotherapy with me, please reach out to see if I can accommodate you. Please be aware that international sessions are not covered by insurance. International sessions are only available for private pay clients at this time.

No. The military trained me to be a “generalist,” meaning I am comfortable treating a variety of presenting concerns. I simply hope that my military background will make me a more culturally competent provider for service members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

Your session time is reserved specifically for you; however, I understand that life can be chaotic and unpredictable. I ask that you notify me at least 24 prior to our scheduled appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions that are cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee, except in case of serious illness or emergency.

I plan to begin accepting Tricare this summer (summer 2025).
-
I do not use a formal sliding scale formula to determine session fees; however, I offer a limited number of discounted fee appointments each week for individuals with a demonstrated need. Please contact me to see if you may be eligible for a discounted fee.
-
Not at this time. My private practice is currently 100% virtual. I may offer in-person sessions in the future.

No, I do not offer pediatric services at this time. While I adore children, this is not a clinical area in which I have specialized. If your child could benefit from psychological services, I recommended looking for a psychologist with a pediatrics specialization. Please ask me if you need a referral for a colleague of mine.
-
No, I am not a prescribing provider. However, if you would like, we can consult and collaborate with your prescribing provider as part of our treatment planning.
